2024 | ELLE By Me Craft Kit Packaging Design Concept

Role: Lead graphic Designer, Packaging Development

As part of Premier Yarns’ licensed partnership with ELLE Magazine, I designed the first craft kit packaging concept for the ELLE By Me line.

The goal was to translate ELLE’s elevated, fashion-driven identity into packaging suited for large-format retail, while maintaining the approachable tone of Premier’s existing product range.

I led the design process from visual direction to dieline development, material selection, and production planning to ensure the concept balanced premium appeal with retail practicality.

The design required a clear product window to allow customers to view the yarn inside, preventing them from opening boxes to inspect texture or color and keeping the product clean on shelves.

Color played a key role in the system I built to differentiate kit types. Muted emerald represented crochet, while soft mauve identified knit, creating a clear and cohesive visual language across the line.

Because the kits would be stacked on palettes for distribution and then displayed on retail shelves, the layout was developed to look cohesive and legible from every angle.
